Alexander Tetrus (Joy)

Your character is motivated to spread JOY.

Among noble and royal houses, it is sage advice to birth “an heir and a spare”. The first-born, the 'heir', ensures that your family's wealth and power continues undiluted. The second-born, the 'spare', exists in case the first-born dies. However, you have no ambitions to power, instead you ENJOY a lack of worries and responsibilities. You ENJOY the fact that you are the 'spare' and not the heir to Tetrus house. You ENJOY wine, women, and music. You ENJOY art. As a skilled artiste, you wish to bring JOY to those around you - you can and do entertain everyone around you.

INSPIRATION SOURCES

  • SPOTLIGHT: You gain inspiration each time you become the center of attention.
  • SOCIALITE: You gain inspiration each time you share a piece of gossip.
  • EPICURIAN: You gain inspiration each time you indulge in a new food, drink a bottle of wine (or other substances), or bed a woman.
  • SCAR: ADDICT: Once, at the beginning of a scene, you may invoke this scar 'Addict' to succumb to the effects of addiction to gain 1 inspiration point. However, for the duration of the scene, your senses and reflexes may become unreliable.

INSPIRATION USES

There are certain special cases where these abilities might fail, but these cases are revelatory to your character's arc, and move the plot forward. When an ability spending inspiration fails, special things happen.

  • CHARM: You can use inspiration to charm a person into enjoying your company or agreeing with your opinions. This can take the form of flirting, self-deprecating anecdotes, disarming compliments, compelling musical performances, even bribes or favors.
  • PERFORMANCE: You can use inspiration to gain the attention of a crowd, but only if you spend the next moments entertaining them.
  • SHAMELESS: You can use inspiration to ignore the physical and cognitive effects of shame or inebriation.

BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING

You are a 22 year-old human male. You are the second-born of House Tetrus. You know that your father would have preferred a son as his firstborn, but you have no wish to replace your big sister as heir. You are extremely talented in etiquette, culture, language, art (especially music), and socializing. You enjoy luxury and hate hardship of any kind. Your abilities in combat are negligible, but you are often lucky enough to find a way to avoid direct confrontation. Though, when pressed, you can often provide a useful distraction in a crisis.

HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THE OTHER CHARACTERS

  • Amanda: Your big sister can be a big stick in the mud, too focused on her next goal and not enough on enjoying the moment. You hope to make her laugh someday and enjoy life.
  • Folwin: Folwin is an incredibly fascinating individual. You don't always understand him or what he is talking about, but you are always impressed by his knowledge and insight. You often ask him about science and philosophy.
  • Sarkon: Sarkon scares you. When you were a child, Sarkon was often the subject of stories meant to scare you into behaving. You trust him, but only as long as you are out of his reach.
  • Eugene: Eugene is great fun. You enjoy the halfling's love for food and song and smoking. Because of your relationship with Eugene, you are considering becoming an adventurer, if only your father would give you his approval for doing so.
